Who operates Etmasha
Etmasha is operated by Ibrahim Elsherbini. This notice applies to the Etmasha iPhone and iPad app and etmasha.com. For privacy questions or a data request, contact support@etmasha.com. Last updated: 3 November 2026.
Your movement diary
Location observations, routes, visits, activity classifications and fitness readings are processed and stored on your device. Ordinary service and support operations do not upload your movement or Health history. No Etmasha consumer account is required.
Location, Motion and optional Apple Health access have separate purposes and controls. Health data is used to display the readings you enable, not for advertising. If a reading is unavailable, it is not replaced with a guessed value. Etmasha does not calculate medical advice or its own calorie estimate.
Maps and address lookup
Displaying Apple maps uses Apple’s map services and their data practices. If you enable Apple address lookup, coordinates of a stop being looked up are sent to Apple to obtain an address or area name. This is separate from uploading your entire diary. You can turn address lookup off in the app. A nearby place is not proof that you entered it. When you search for a place, Apple receives your search text and the current map area.
Purchases and service security
Apple handles payment and subscriptions. Etmasha receives signed purchase information such as the product, transaction identifiers, subscription state and expiry to check access and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment-card number.
The app and server also use an installation identifier and Apple App Attest evidence to protect service requests. These are service identifiers, not advertising identifiers. Purchase restoration does not restore a local diary or synchronize two devices. We retain app and system versions, service contact times, security events and notification delivery status to operate and protect these services. Hosting and messaging providers also process technical connection information, such as IP addresses.
Support and optional email
When you open an in-app support inbox or send a message, the server processes its reference, messages and any technical summary you choose to include. Review a message before sending it. Avoid including your location or Health information unless you deliberately want to discuss it.
An optional contact email can be verified with a code sent through MailChannels. The email is used for that verification and support identification; it is not a consumer login or a diary-recovery service. Verification emails do not use open or click tracking. You can remove the optional email in the app.
Email sent to support@etmasha.com is forwarded using Cloudflare Email Routing to the operator’s mailbox provider, Google. These providers process the address and message needed to deliver the conversation.
Notification choices
A local recording reminder runs on your device. It asks you to check recording after a period without confirmation; it neither uploads your diary nor proves that recording stopped.
Optional support replies and optional service messages use Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service. Delivery uses a registration token, installation or inbox association, app version, platform, language and consent state. It does not include your routes or Health history. Lock-screen text is generic; the app retrieves the message through the authorized inbox.
Service messages cover service updates and problem follow-ups, not advertising, and are off by default. Each category has its own control. An offline opt-out takes effect locally and is sent to the server when connected; an alert already in transit may still arrive. Turning notifications off does not itself delete Firebase’s installation identifier. Contact support@etmasha.com for a request concerning information already held by service providers.
Diagnostics and AI
The public first release does not offer cloud AI diagnosis or automatic customer technical-report and crash uploads. Local recording checks can help explain readiness without sending a route to an AI provider. We will explain any later optional reporting service and obtain the applicable permission before enabling it.
How long information is kept
Your diary remains on your device until you remove it, subject to device storage and any copies you choose to retain. Support messages and service records are kept as needed to provide the service, maintain purchase state and respond to your requests. The app provides deletion controls for the support inbox and diary separately.
Deletion requests may need an online connection to finish. Minimal deletion and revocation records are kept to stop removed data returning after a server restore; deleting an inbox is not the same as canceling an Apple subscription. Payment records controlled by Apple follow Apple’s policies.
Your choices and requests
You can pause capture, change permissions in system settings, export or delete your local diary, remove your optional email, turn off notification categories and request inbox deletion. Stopping future sharing and deleting information already sent are different operations.
An export is a copy you control. Etmasha 1.0 does not offer cross-device iCloud diary synchronization or an Apple Watch app. A device backup or manually retained export is separate from purchase restoration.
Contact support@etmasha.com to request access, correction or deletion of information held by the service. Include your app support reference when available, but never send your recovery credential or Apple password. We may need to verify that a request concerns your information.
This website and service providers
This static website has no advertising pixels, analytics SDK, signup form or tracking cookies. Cloudflare hosts it and handles request information such as IP address and technical connection details to deliver and protect the site. Your email application handles messages you choose to send from an email link.
The app’s optional services involve Apple, Firebase/Google, MailChannels and our service hosting. The infrastructure may process information outside your country. Providers only receive the information used by the relevant service; your diary is not routinely sent to them.
Updates to this notice
We will update this page when the release’s data practices change and show the update date. A revised page alone does not grant a new optional permission in the app.
